WEST CARROLLTON — On Feb. 8, West Carrollton City Council approved a three-year subscription service agreement with Flock Safety Group, a company that sells automated license plate reading cameras to law enforcement.
In the resolution passed by the city council, it states that the West Carrollton Police Department has conducted extensive research about implementing an automatic license plate detection program.

According to the Flock Safety Groups website, by using LPR cameras law enforcement can pinpoint a suspect’s last known location, narrowing down the search location.
The cameras do not capture people or faces, according to Flock.
We are working to learn when the cameras will be implemented and where the city plans to place them.
