WEST CARROLLTON — A women’s clothing store in West Carrollton is helping breast cancer survivors find their new look after surgery.
Personal Touch Apparel, a post-mastectomy boutique, has been has been around for 27 years. Janette McDaniel became the owner about seven years ago.
“I love the women I work with and helping them to feel back to normal and like their old selves when they leave,” McDaniel said.

McDaniel said that in all the years of being in the business, the options for women post breast surgery have come a long way.
“There are so many different shapes and sizes of prostheses and weights and types. There’s a custom form also,” McDaniel said.
After being fitted for a prostheses and new bra at the store, Gail Kline said she felt “empowered.”
“I needed to have something that fit me, so that I would look even and like myself,” Kline said.
Six years ago, Kline found out she had breast cancer during a mammogram.

“The mammogram showed something different. They did further tests and found a small lump,” Kline said.
After having a unilateral mastectomy, Kline described feeling dismayed with her appearance.
“I tried to find my own solutions to making everything look right and it wasn’t the right thing to do. I didn’t even realize they had partial forms for reconstruction ladies that would actually make you look pretty much perfect,” Kline said.
Kline was so inspired by her experience at Personal Touch that she is now working to become a certified fitter.
McDaniel told News Center 7 she felt it was her calling to work with women with breast cancer.
“Being able to put them back into a position where they feel like they’re a whole person again and look good and they look wonderful and it makes me feel great as well,” McDaniel said.
