2 men facing charges for West Carrollton schools lockdown incident

WEST CARROLLTON — UPDATE @ 3:50 p.m. (March 7): 

Two men are facing charges in connection to lockdowns at two West Carrollton school buildings Tuesday.

Simon Carroll, 18, and Isaiah Conner, 20, remain booked in the Montgomery County Jail Wednesday on several charges.

Carroll is being held on suspicion of tampering with evidence and inducing panic, according to West Carrollton police.

Conner is facing charges of tampering with evidence, inducing panic, and obstructing official business.

One of the suspects posted a video on social media that appeared to show a gun on the property of West Carrollton High School, police said. Investigators released a description to surrounding police jurisdictions of the suspect vehicle the two were possibly in, leading  to a traffic stop and arrests and Moraine.

Police said the lockdowns at two West Carrollton school buildings were prompted by a posting on social media.

Police declined to release the specifics of the social media post or its potential connection to the school.

UPDATE @ 2:28 p.m. (March 6):

Police are questioning a person, who they believe may have been responsible for the situation that prompted a lockdown at two West Carrollton schools buildings, police said.

SCHOOL THREATS: Springfield teen admits to school threat

Officers detained the person during a traffic stop in the area of Dryden Road and Main Street in Moraine, according to investigators.

Police were made aware of a potentially violent situation that was not directed specifically at the schools impacted, but could have involved the schools, and followed standard protocol to ensure the schools were safe, according to police. That included putting the high school and Harold Schnell Elementary on lockdown.

Police said the students are safe and the situation has been contained.

INITIAL REPORT:

Two West Carrollton City Schools buildings were placed on lockdown today at the recommendation of police, according to a school officials.

School officials said West Carrollton High School and Harold Schnell Elementary were on lockdown at 1:30 p.m.

Police said they are still working the case, but said students are safe.
