The Winery at Versailles temporarily closed after catching fire

DARKE COUNTY — The Winery at Versailles announced it will be temporarily closed due to a fire that broke out in its main building Saturday morning.

The Darke County Sheriff’s Office confirmed crews were called to respond to the fire that was reported around 8:21 a.m.

The Winery at Versailles said in a social media post that it will be closed until further notice as they assess damages and begin the cleaning and rebuilding process.

“Many thanks to our areas Fire and Rescue who responded immediately and are still there,” the winery said.

The winery said the fire was caught early and no one was injured.
