Winter storm causes dozens of flights to be delayed, cancelled at Ohio airports

Dozens of flights are canceled at major airports across the state Friday as a winter storm brings high winds and freezing temperatures.

At Dayton International Airport at least 15 departing flights, nearly half of all Dayton originating flights, have been canceled with a handful more being delayed, according to the airport’s website.

In Columbus at John Glenn International Airport, more than 30 of the 52 departing flights have been canceled, and at least another five have been delayed.

At Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky International Airport in Hebron, Ky., at least 18 flights have been cancelled.

Nationwide 7,086 flights total have been cancelled Friday and 16,904 flights have been delayed, according to the flight tracking website FlightAware.

These numbers are subject to change as the weather moves through the area.
