Winter Storm leads to limited Dayton Police response time

DAYTON — The Dayton Police Department announced late Sunday that it will limit officers’ response time due to the city’s wintry conditions.

Their Facebook page states, “Due to deteriorating road conditions, The Dayton Police Department has transitioned to its inclement Weather Policy.”

The social media post went on to say that during an “Inclement Weather Advisory,” some patrol activities will be limited to include:

DPD crews will only respond to Priority 1-3 calls for service and hazardous Priority 4 calls for service.

Non-injury accidents will be handled by telephone.

All other calls for service will be handled by the Telephone Reporting Unit (including Patrol handling calls by telephone).
