MIAMI VALLEY — The Ohio Department of Transportation’s electronic highway signs typically show drivers how long it will take for drivers to get to certain locations, but this weekend drivers may be caught off-guard with some witty Thanksgiving and football references.
Here is what the message boards will read during the holiday weekend:
WEDNESDAY:
In 2018, ODOT says there have been 237 alcohol related traffic deaths.
THANKSGIVING:
ODOT says speed has been a contributing factor in 25,979 crashes in the state so far in 2018.
BLACK FRIDAY:
ODOT says in 2018 there have been 340 traffic deaths related to people not wearing their seatbelts.
SATURDAY/SUNDAY:
As Ohio State and Michigan battle it out in “The Big Game” on Saturday in Columbus and the Cleveland Browns takes on the Cincinnati Bengals in “The Battle of Ohio”, ODOT reminds drivers to not drink and drive.
