Clearcreek Township police were called to the 5500 block of Dearth Road around 5 a.m. on New Year’s Day on reports of a drive-by shooting.
When officers got to the scene, the homeowner directed them to a 36-year-old man lying on the front porch with a gunshot wound to the abdomen, according to Lt. Wallace Stacy.
An investigation showed that the homeowner and a friend invited several people to the home on Dearth Road for a New Year’s Eve party. At some point, the friend’s estranged wife, identified as Clendenin, showed up at the house.
Clendenin was reportedly angry with her husband and the homeowner, Stacy wrote in a press release. As she was leaving, she reportedly fired several shots toward the house and hit the victim.
After leaving, she crashed her Jeep on McLean Road.
Clendenin was arrested and booked into the Warren County Jail, where she remains. She’s set to appear in court on Thursday.
