Woman found bleeding from head after motorcycle crashes in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD — A woman was hospitalized after their motorcycle crashed in Springfield Sunday evening.

Springfield Police and Fire responded to a single-vehicle crash in the 100 block of West Jefferson Street at 7:28 p.m., the city’s dispatch confirmed. Out of an abundance of caution, a CareFlight unit was placed on standby due to the crash involving a motorcycle.

Officers relayed the driver was a woman who was not wearing a helmet, causing her to bleed from the head following the crash. However, she was not suffering life-threatening injuries. As a result, the CareFlight unit was cancelled.

The driver was taken to an unnamed hospital by ground transport for further treatment.

Springfield Police led the investigation into the crash.
