Firefighters rescue woman trapped in Huber Heights car wash

HUBER HEIGHTS — A woman was sent into a panic Tuesday afternoon after she said she became trapped in a Huber Heights car wash and had to call 911 to be rescued.

"I don't know what to do, I'm stuck in here. It shut off on me," the woman said. "I just shut my car off, because I just realized the doors are closed in here."

The woman told dispatchers she had been getting her car washed at the SpinLight Express Car Wash on Brandt Pike, when the car wash shut off and the doors closed.

"No one's coming to help me and I'm like freaking out," she said. "I'm just freaked out I'm going to get carbon monoxide poisoning."

The car wash manager told News Center 7 he didn't believe the woman pulled up enough to trigger the door to open. The manager said they inspected the machine and didn't find anything wrong with it.

The woman said she honked her horn and tried calling the car wash, but was unable to reach anyone, according to the 911 call.

The Huber Heights Fire Department responded around 1:30 p.m. and helped rescue the woman, according to dispatch records.

The manager said he gave the woman two free car washes following the incident.
