XENIA — A woman is suing a Greene County school district claiming it violated her First Amendment rights.

Darbi Boddy claims the Xenia Community Schools superintendent ripped the microphone away from her while she was speaking at a board of education meeting in October, according to court documents.
As previously reported by News Center 7, Xenia Community Schools held a board meeting back in October after the district put the top of Critical Race Theory (CRT) on the agenda.
The meeting got heated.

News Center 7 reached out to Xenia Community Schools, and they sent us a statement.
“A lawsuit was filed against the Xenia Community School District Board of Education alleging a violation of the First Amendment rights of a speaker at a public meeting. While the Board does not comment on the specifics of litigation, it intends to defend against the claims in court.”
Boddy is a former member of the Lakota Board of Education.
They voted to declare her seat vacant after a 90-day absence in March, according to our news partner WCPO in Cincinnati.
