A Northridge father rescued his daughter’s American Girl Doll from their home after an EF-4 tornado shifted it from its foundation.

Jamesetta Taylor saw the report last week about the 7-year-old girl and her father, and right away she got in touch with News Center 7’s Molly Koweek.

Storm Walker’s doll only had one outfit when her father retrieved it from their unstable home.

But Taylor, a Dayton seamstress, wanted to make sure the doll was well dressed, and that Storm keeps smiling.

“She’s going to give a big smile, I see it, I just see it,” Taylor said. ‘You know, and she might even squeal.”

She’s not a fortune teller, but Taylor already knew what Storm’s reaction would be to finding out her American Girl doll has a brand new wardrobe.

Instead, Storm couldn’t say anything at first, just surprised squeaks, until she could find the perfect words: “Thank you!”

“You are so welcome. I saw you on TV and I just fell in love with you,” Taylor told her.

The pair packed up the homemade outfits, and Storm finally found her voice.

“Now I have a lot of clothes and a lot of shoes and stuff so now I get to like pick up whatever I want for my American Girl doll,” Storm said. “I feel really happy right now, like exciting happy.”

American Girl Doll also reached out, about bringing in Storm for a doll makeover. We’ll be there when she makes the trip to Columbus.
