The victim of a shooting at a Wyoming Street home in Dayton has been identified as Kevin E. Johnson, 29, of Dayton, according to the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office.
Johnson’s cause of death has not been officially ruled, a coroner’s office spokesperson said.

A 57-year-old man is jailed in the Tuesday night death of a 29-year-old man in the 700 block of Wyoming Street in Dayton.
Earl Ellis Shingleton was booked at 10 p.m. Tuesday into the Montgomery County Jail on suspicion of murder. He is scheduled to be arraigned this afternoon in Dayton Municipal Court.

The shooting in a Wyoming Street residence now is a homicide as the 29-year-old victim has died, a Montgomery County Coroner's investigator confirms.
UPDATE @ 9 p.m.:
The person of interest in the shooting on Wyoming Street in Dayton may be the victim’s father, according to a call to 9-1-1.
A caller told the 9-1-1 operator her next-door neighbor “just banged on the door, and my son answered, and he said, ‘call 9-1-1, I just shot my son in the chest.’ ”
The caller identified herself as a neighbor and told the operator she heard “a boom” coming from the house next door. The caller told the operator her neighbor didn’t say why the shooting occurred.
“He just went back home because his wife is really screaming and she’s pretty upset,” the caller said.
UPDATE @ 8:35 p.m.:
Police are interviewing a person of interest in a shooting inside a residence in the 700 block of Wyoming Street that has left a 29-year-old male in critical condition, Dayton police Lt. Jason Hall said.
"This is a domestic dispute that tragically escalated into violence," Hall said.
It's very early in the investigation, he said, and police are interviewing the person of interest identified only as a male.
INITIAL REPORT
One person is being taken to a hospital and police have a person in custody involving a shooting reported at a residence in the 700 block of Wyoming Street in Dayton.

The victim is being taken to Miami Valley Hospital, according to Montgomery County Regional Dispatch. The condition of that victim is not known.
We’re hearing at least one person was hit, according to a neighbor’s call to 9-1-1. Police and the medic unit were dispatched about 7:20 p.m.
