WPAFB provides support to U.S. Army aircraft as they travel through the area

WPAFB — Wright-Patterson Air Force Base is providing support for the U.S. Army over a three-day period starting today.

The 88th Operations Support Squadron and 88 Logistics Readiness Squadron at WPAFB are providing transient support for the United States Army.

Helicopters from the 10th Combat Aviation Brigade, 10th Mountain Division, Fort Drum, New York, will travel to aid in a Joint-Readiness Training Center exercise at Fort Polk, Louisiana, a press release stated.

Roughly 36 Apache, Blackhawk, and Chinook helicopters will be arriving and departing from WPAFB between March 29 and 31.

WPAFB noted that people who live in and around the base may hear or see the helicopters on those days. Arrival and departure dates and times may change or cancel in the event of inclement weather.
