Wright State fall sports postponed after Horizon League decision

The Horizon League has announced it will postpone fall sports competition with a decision at a later date as to whether those sports will be played in the spring.

“Guided by its core value of student-athlete well-being and considering further developments in the outbreak of COVID-19, the Horizon League Board of Directors, acting on a recommendation from the League’s Council, has decided to postpone fall competition for the fall season,” the league said in a statement.

The decision impacts cross country, soccer and volleyball championship seasons and non-championship seasons for golf, baseball, softball and tennis.

Wright State is the other local college that competes in the league.

The decision does not include basketball, which falls in the winter sports season.

Each individual school will still make decisions on training, practice and recruiting in accordance with the NCAA.
