Wright State to require masks inside all campus buildings

In response to the rise in Covid-19 cases caused by the Delta variant, Wright State University says it will now require all students, faculty, staff and visitors to wear masks while inside all campus buildings.

University President Sue Edwards, Ph.D., made the announcement Wednesday saying the university has continued to adjust their protocols based on state and federal guidance throughout the pandemic.

Effective Aug. 5, face coverings will be required to be worn at all times, regardless of vaccination status. The only exceptions will be when a person is actively eating and drinking or working alone in a closed space, such as an office.

In an email to campus members, Edwards said the university encourages all students, faculty and staff to get vaccinated.

“When combined with masking, the vaccine remains the most effective tool to prevent the spread of COVID-19. It is also the best way to help our university return to a full campus life and protect community members who cannot get the vaccine,” Edwards said.
