YELLOW SPRINGS — An area credit union says they’re a victim in a world-wide debit card fraud.
Yellow Springs Federal Credit Union said that some of their card numbers were included in an “industry, world-wide, massive MasterCard debit card fraud.”
In a note posted on their website, officials said none of their members’ private information was exposed. Their publicly-known bin numbers were exposed.

“From those numbers, fraudsters utilize programs to predict valid numbers fitting to our bin, and attempt charges at various merchants,” officials noted.
The incident was not a result of “anything [Yellow Springs Credit Union’s] product or staff failed to protect or do.”
Anyone who thinks that their card has been compromised have been asked to contact the credit union.
