BEAVERCREEK — Logan’s Roadhouse has shut down its Beavercreek location at 2819 Centre Drive near the Mall at Fairfield Commons, according to an employee who attended a mandatory all-employee meeting at the restaurant this morning.

A representative of Logan’s who answered the phone at the restaurant this morning declined comment, saying more information would be available later today. Later in the morning, the same representative referred questions to a corporate spokesman for Logan’s Roadhouse, who did not immediately return a phone call.

An employee at the meeting said the closing will affect 60 to 80 employees. Logan’s representatives have told employees they can transfer to other Logan’s Roadhouse restaurants. There are two other locations in the Dayton area: on Miamisburg-Centerville Road near the Dayton Mall, and in Troy.

Employees were told high rent and the upcoming renegotiation of a lease was a factor in the decision to close the Beavercreek location.

Last month, Logan’s Roadhouse Inc. filed for reorganization bankruptcy and said it would close 18 “underperforming” locations in the 256-unit chain as it restructures its debt. No Dayton-area location was among the first wave of closings, however.

The chain’s CEO, Sam Borgese, left the company, according to Nation’s Restaurant News.

This is the second restaurant closing near the Fairfield Commons mall in as many days. Yesterday, this news outlet reported that Don Pablo's Mexican restaurant in front of the mall has shut its doors permanently. And a restaurant in the Mall at Fairfield Commons food court, Designer Dogs, closed over Labor Day weekend.
