Trotwood as community comes together during tornado devastation

Trotwood — Meteorologists McCall Vrydaghs and Kirstie Zontini spent much of the day visiting various communities impacted by the Memorial Day tornadoes, including Trotwood.

Janet Hawes, who walked Vrydaghs and Zontini through the damage on her property, described the moments she and her husband took cover.

Vrydaghs said there were several echoing messages from Trotwood residents. She said the community is thankful the damage wasn’t any worse, and that residents there are happy with the overwhelming support from the community provided in the hardest hit areas.

Chief Meteorologist Vrydaghs continues her tornado coverage, including the impact on different communities, again tonight at 11 p.m.
