THURSTON COUNTY, Wash. — EMTs who responded to an elderly man who broke his hip while mowing his lawn in Thurston County, Washington, returned to finish the work for him.
Last week the man was mowing his lawn when he fell and broke his hip.
EMTs from West Thurston Regional Fire responded and took him to a nearby hospital. and then returned to finish the yardwork.

The man’s grandson, Aiden Martin, posted photos on Twitter and the story traveled worldwide.
“Hope your grandpa is doing ok!” Capt. Lanette Dyer, an EMT and the agency’s public information officer wrote back. “Please (don’t) hesitate to let us know if there is anything we can do!”
