New Greenville fire chief sworn in

The city of Greenville has a new fire chief.

Russell Thompson was sworn in this morning at city hall by acting mayor John Burkett.

Thompson, of Greenville, replaces Mark Wolf, who recently retired.

Thompson — previously a captain — has been in the department for 14 years.

A native of Covington in Miami County, Thompson served nearly 10 years in the U.S. Army.
