It’s a very sad week for News Center 7, as former executive producer and husband to Kate Bartley, Andy Howell, lost his battle with cancer on Easter Sunday.
Kate has been by Andy’s side since he was diagnosed with brain cancer six years ago, and he passed away peacefully in their home surrounded by family.
We shared their touching story with our viewers back in February, in a special tribute to Andy’s life and legacy that you can watch above.
“Kate told me today that she is forever grateful they have that story, as a record of Andy’s love,” James Brown said, who was Bartley’s co-anchor during her time with News Center 7.
Andy was 35 years old, and leaves behind a son he shared with Bartley named Charlie.
Bartley says she is thankful for the thoughts and prayers she has received, especially because she cannot hold traditional services in Andy’s honor due to the pandemic.
