Ohio Task Force 1 activated, heading to Louisiana to aid in Hurricane Delta relief

A 47-member Ohio Task Force 1 team was activated and will head towards Louisiana ahead of the pending, expected landfall of Hurricane Delta.

The urban search and rescue team was departed their Vandalia headquarters late Wednesday night en route to Hammond, Louisiana, located approximately 50 miles east of Baton Rouge.

All deploying members were tested for COVID-19 before they left, and results were expected sometime Thursday morning.

This is OHTF1′s second deployment to the Louisiana-area this year in hurricane relief. The task force conducted operations in the state in the aftermath of Hurricane Laura in August and September.
