DAYTON — As the city held a virtual tribute to the victims, roughly one hundred people, including families of victims and survivors, gathered in the Oregon District to take part in nine minutes of silence at 8:04pm.

The emotional gathering included remarks from Ned Pepper’s bouncer Jeremy Ganger, hailed a hero for his efforts on August 4, 2019 in getting people to safety, and ensuring the gunman did not make his way into the crowded bar.

“I love every single one of you guys,” he said aloud to photos of the nine victims. “Please remember guys we’ve got your memories forever.”
