The crash happened around 6:14 a.m. on U.S. 127, south of Fort Recovery Minster Rd in Granville Township, Mercer County Sheriff Jeff Grey said in a media release.

Kevin Brunswick, 61, was identified as the victim killed in the crash, Grey said.

The initial investigation found a white Chevy car, driven by Brunswick, was traveling north on U.S. 127 when it crossed the centerline and crashed into a semi traveling south. Deputies said the reason for Brunswick crossing the centerline was unknown and under investigation.

Deputies did not indicate if the driver of the semitrailer, identified as Todd Penhorwood, 54 of Mt Victory, was injured in the crash.

The crash reconstruction team was called to the crash scene. Once the investigation is complete, it will be forwarded to the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office for review, Grey said.
