Public hearing scheduled to address AES Ohio’s application for an electric security plan

The Public Utilities Commission of Ohio has scheduled a public hearing to address AES Ohio’s application for an electric security plan filed in September, according to the spokesperson with Public Utilities of Ohio. (PUCO)

The hearing will be held at the Dayton Municipal Court Building on Third Street in Dayton on February, 2nd., at 6 p.m., the spokesperson said.

This comes after AES Ohio filed an application for an electric security plan for the supply of ‘standard service offer’ or the default rate electric generation on September 26th., the spokesperson said.

The default rate is the price in which customers that do not participate in a government aggregation program or use a retail electric supplier on their own pay for electric service, the spokesperson said.

PUCO is the agency in charge of regulating public utility service.

“The role of PUCO is to assure all residential, business and industrial consumers have access to adequate, safe and reliable utility services at fair prices while facilitating an environment that provides competitive choices,” the spokesperson said in the media release.
