Cedarville University surpassed 5,000 students enrolled in undergraduate, graduate and online programs for the first time in its history for the 2022-23 school year.

As more than 1 thousand first-year freshman showed up to campus in August, Cedarville Leaders credit the lively community, rigorous academic programs and the focus on biblical integration for the positive rise in student enrollment, according to a press release from the university’s spokesperson.
“We’re an institution that is ‘for the Word of God and the Testimony of Jesus Christ,” Vice President Dr. Scott Van Loo said. “Families and students are connecting with the values that make Cedarville distinctive.”
This year’s freshman class of 1,139 students is up 17% from last year and is the largest first-year class in Cedarville’s history, according to the release.
The previous record for first-year enrollment was set in 2019 at 995 students.

Student enrollment isn’t the only recent record breaking experience for the University.
Fundraising opportunities through the schools “One Thousand Days Transformed: The Campaign for Cedarville” is the largest fundraising initiative in their history, the press release said.
Since announcing the fundraiser in October of 2021, Cedarville has received $114.5 million in financial commitments, including a recent $8 million anonymous gift, the spokesperson said.
“God has granted us a privilege and responsibility to invest in the lives of this record-breaking number of students,” Cedarville President, Dr. Thomas White said. “For our undergraduates, they have approximately 1,000 days on our campus, and we are committed to equipping each student for godly service and vocational distinction.”

Cedarville is an accredited Christ-centered, Baptist institution founded in 1887.
With more than 175 areas of study, a Bible minor is built into every academic program, according to the release.
“Ultimately we desire to glorify God through faithful stewardship of all the students that he has entrusted to us as they go on to serve as Christian leaders in business, healthcare, ministry and more,” Dr. White said.
