Remnants of Hurricane Laura to impact Miami Valley

It has been an active week in the Gulf Coast as states have been dealing with hurricanes Marco and Laura. Marco made landfall as a tropical storm earlier this week near the mouth of the Mississippi River.

Hurricane Laura made landfall early Thursday morning as a major, Category 4 hurricane near Cameron, LA.

The Miami Valley is watching the leftovers of Laura as it makes it way towards the Ohio Valley by the end of the work week.

The remnants of Laura is expected to interact with a cold front that will swing through Saturday, eventually pushing all the moisture out of the Miami Valley and leading to a beautiful Sunday.

  • Rain and scattered storms
  • A few severe storms with strong winds could develop Friday
  • Rain totals around 1″ or Less

Your Storm Center 7 team will continue to monitor Hurricane Laura as it moves north and east. Thankfully, impacts up here will not be as severe as years ago when the remnants of Ike moved through.
