House used by suspected squatters catches fire for second time since Saturday

DAYTON — Firefighters reported a house on Richard Street in Dayton was fully engulfed in flames early Monday morning, the second time the structure was reported on fire since Saturday.

Crews responded around 1:45 a.m. to the house in the 2000 block of Richard Street and reported heavy flames and smoke coming from the structure, according to initial reports.

The house was also the scene of a fire response early Saturday morning when the same structure was on fire.

Investigators said Saturday the house was vacant however it was suspected people were squatting inside.

Additional details about Monday’s fire were not available.
