Santa Claus is expected to make special appearances aboard the Greater Dayton Regional Transit Authority (RTA) 2022 Holiday Bus, according to the Communications and Community Relations Manager with RTA.

The bus covered in holiday spirit will make its debut this Friday, Nov. 25th., during the Dayton Holiday Festival’s Grande Illumination and Dayton Children’s Parade, the RTA spokesperson said in a media release shared with News Center 7.
The bus showcases RTA’s 50th Anniversary logo, as well as reminders about the promotional free rides after 5 p.m., Monday through Friday until Dec. 30th., the spokesperson said. This promotion is in addition to RTA’s free weekends every Saturday and Sunday running through Jan. 1st.
Once the parade is finished, RTA’s Holiday Bus will circulate along different routes throughout the holiday season beginning on Dec. 1st through Dec. 30th., the spokesperson said. A complete schedule of the daily routes for the Holiday Bus can be found on RTA’s website.
Wright Stop Plaza will be closed due to the parade from 7 p.m. through 9 p.m., the spokesperson said. The buses will be boarding and dropping passengers off at the parade on Third and Jefferson St.

A few of the bus stops downtown will be closed and rerouted during the parade, the spokesperson said. The affected stops are 1, 2, 3, 7, 8, 9, 12, 14, 43.
All stops on Main Street, north and southbound will be closed, according to the spokesperson. Fifth Street southbound between Patterson Road and Jefferson Street, and Monument Avenue at Jefferson Street will also be closed.
The Flyer RTA will also be rerouted due to the parade beginning at 4:30 p.m. and wrapping up at midnight, the spokesperson said. If you plan to take The Flyer to the parade, the temporary bus stops are as follows:

- Northbound at Jefferson and Fourth Street.
- Northbound at Jefferson and Second Street.
- Southbound at St. Clair and First Street.
- Southbound at St. Clair and Second Street.
- Southbound at St. Clair and Fourth Street.
- Southbound at St. Clair and Fifth Street.
If riders need assistance finding their bus during this time, they can ask a RTA transit ambassador, the spokesperson.
