RTA will be holding a family-friendly event this month to celebrate 50 years of essential public transportation to the greater Dayton area.

As part of the annual Downtown Dayton Holiday Festival, this event will be held at Wright Stop Plaza on Nov. 25 from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m., according to the Communications Specialist at RTA.
A kids area with balloons, shirts, coloring books, a photobooth and an educational presentation on the history of RTA will be available for kids to enjoy at the event, the spokesperson said.

RTA will also be running a promotion beginning on Nov. 4th, the spokesperson said. The “transit happy hours” promotion consists of all rides after 5 p.m. are free Monday through Friday until Dec. 30th.
This promotion applies to both fixed-route and paratransit services, the spokesperson said.

Riders can also continue to take advantage of free weekends every Saturday and Sunday until the beginning of the new year, the spokesperson said.
