MIAMI VALLEY — A regional retailer is offering discounts on produce to those enrolled in the SNAP program.
Meijer announced Thursday it will be offering an in-store discount of 10 percent off produce for those enrolled in the SNAP food assistance program, according to a company spokesperson.
The discount will run through March 31.

The discount is being funded through the U.S. Department of Agriculture waiver grant to help those using the SNAP program have access to healthy food, a spokesperson told News Center 7.
“Fresh produce discount available in-store only at all Meijer supercenters, Meijer Grocery, neighborhood market stores and Express locations throughout Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Illinois, Kentucky and Wisconsin,” a Meijer spokesperson said.
The wavier grant also allowed Meijer to offer special discounts since October, including free home delivery during November.
