Eric DeJesus, 24, and Nathan Cochran, 23, were charged in relation to the carjacking of a double amputee man that left him in danger of dying on the train tracks, court records obtained by WOIO showed.

DeJesus, Cochran, and Aaron Parsons, 36, allegedly approached the victim who was sitting in his car near the intersection of East 71st Street and Hosmer Avenue in Cleveland on February 21.

They then reportedly forced the victim at gunpoint to drive to the railroad tracks at the intersection of West 25th Street and Pearl Road.

The three men then attacked the victim with guns and placed him on the railroad tracks. Parsons allegedly told the victim, “If the cold weather doesn’t kill you, a train will,” Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Michael O’Malley informed.

Before driving off in the victim’s car, which contained his two prosthetic legs, Parsons allegedly threw his wheelchair in a ravine.

The victim managed to crawl to safety and call police who later found his vehicle burned near the intersection of East 59th Street and Park Avenue.

Following this incident, DeJesus and Cochran were charged with the following on Monday by a grand jury:

  • One count of attempted murder
  • One count of aggravated robbery
  • Two counts of robbery
  • One count of tampering with evidence
  • One count of arson
  • One count of grand theft

Parsons pleaded not guilty to all the aforementioned charges. He was issued a $1 million bond for the carjacking.

Parsons was also accused of an unrelated murder of a 23-year-old man on March 24 under a bridge near the same railroad tracks. For this incident, he was placed on a $25,000 bond.
