INDIANAPOLIS — A suspect died and two Indianapolis Police officers were injured following a shooting Thursday afternoon in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Officers were responding to initial reports of a shooting at around 12:40 p.m. near the 3000 block of N. Post Road in Indianapolis, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department’s social media page.
The incident involved a pursuit that ended in gunfire, Indianapolis Police said in a news conference Thursday afternoon.
Four officers were involved in the shooting, two are hospitalized with non-life threatening gunshot wounds. A 46-year-old male suspect was killed during the exchange.
Officers spotted a suspect and tried to pull him over. The car turned into a business parking lot and ran into a dead end, according to Indianapolis Police.
The vehicle attempted to go off-road through a gap between a building and fence. It became lodged and led to an exchange of gunfire between the suspects and officers.
Both officers are expected to survive.
The shooting remains under investigation.
