Chad Doerman, 32, pled not guilty in court Friday to the 21 charges against him after confessing to executing his three boys, according to our news partner WCPO in Cincinnati.

A judge also ordered him to be held without bail while he awaits a pretrial hearing on July 5.

The prosecution revealed additional details in court Friday that took place at his home in Monroe Township, WCPO said.

Mark Tekulve, Clermont County Prosecutor, said it started inside Doerman’s home when he shot his four-year-old son, Hunter, twice. He then walked outside and shot Clayton, 7, as he tried to run away. The boy was hurt after being shot from behind, Tekulve said.

The prosecutor then said Doerman walked up to Clayton and shot him two more times. He then took his three-year-old son, Chase, from his mother’s arms and shot him, Tekulve said.

Tekulve said his goal is “have this man (Doerman) executed,” after being in court Friday.

News Center 7 previously reported Doerman was initially charged with three counts of aggravated murder last week after confessing to the killings.

A Clermont County Grand Jury returned a 21-count indictment on Doerman seven days after the shooting, WCPO said.

This includes nine counts of aggravated murder, eight counts of kidnapping, and four counts of felonious assault.

A funeral and visitation for the three boys will take place Monday at 8 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Glen Este in Batavia.
