She collected homemade cards from 40 schools in Cincinnati wishing Hamlin a speedy recovery after he collapsed on the field of Paycor Stadium during Monday night’s game between the Bengals and Bills.

One of them was from Edwin.

“Dear Damar Hamlin, I am so sorry about your injury,” Edwin wrote. “I was up till 3:00 a.m. thinking about you. Get better soon the Bills are nothing without you.”

Taylor’s son, Brooks, joined his fifth-grade class at Cardinal Pacelli in writing a letter to Hamlin, WCPO said.

“He got really hurt — and he’s not just a player, he’s a person too, so we need to support him so he gets better,” Brooks Taylor said.

Taylor has also been working with fellow NFL coaches’ wives to deliver cards from across the country and tells WCPO she is waiting on cards from Kansas City and Seattle.

The Bills provided an update on Hamlin Saturday afternoon saying he is, “making continued progress in his recovery” but remains in critical condition, in a Social Media post.

“He continues to breathe on his own and his neurological function is excellent,” the team said.

Both the Bills and Bengals play their first game Sunday since the game between the two teams Monday night was canceled following Hamlin’s collapse and will not be made up, the NFL said.

Buffalo hosts New England at Orchard Park, New York.

Cincinnati will play Baltimore at Paycor Stadium and the game will be televised on Channel 7.

Kickoff for both teams is at 1 p.m.
