GOSHEN — Cleanup continues after an EF2-Tornado touched down in Goshen Township Wednesday in Clermont County.

>>UPDATE: EF2 Tornado confirmed in Goshen

Duke Energy is reporting that more than 6,700 Duke Energy customers in Clermont County are still without power, including 5,400 in Goshen.

“This is certainly the most intense tornado I’ve seen,” said Darryl Edwards, Goshen School Superintendent.

Brian Burns told News Center 7s Kayla McDermott he has lived in the area over two decades. He sustained no storm damage but still has no power.

“It was a surprise to me,” he said. “I’m only about a mile away from the worst of the damage.”

Steve Pegram, Goshen Township Administrator, says it will be days until electricity is restored.

“Until they reinstall all the power poles, we will not have power,” he said. “They haven’t given us a deadline but days.”

The Red Cross has been at Goshen High School since the tornado touched down.

“People just come and drop off water,” said Nick Beiser. “They’re just happy to be helping others.”

Community and church members have also dropped off water and are happy to help.

“We’ve had a lot of generous people,” said Edwards.

The community has also organized a cleanup this weekend.

“I’m sure there will be a lot of people there to help,” Burns said.

In addition to serving as a donation center, Goshen High School is also serving as a shelter by the Red Cross, our news partner WCPO in Cincinnati reports.
