Man arrested, charged with murder in connection to Columbus shooting

COLUMBUS — A man was arrested and charged with murder in connection to one of three shootings in Columbus early Saturday morning.

Isaac Clark, 34, was taken into custody Sunday on a murder warrant filed for his arrest, according to our news partner WBNS TV in Columbus.

The arrest comes from the deadly shooting on East Whittier Street around 4:40 a.m. Saturday morning.

Columbus Police officers found David Davis, 36, shot in the stomach. Medics transported him to the hospital where he later died, WBNS reports.

Detectives at the scene determined a verbal altercation took place between Davis and Clark. It led to Clark pulling out a handgun and allegedly shooting Davis, according to Franklin County court records.

Clark is currently in the Franklin County Jail on murder and probation violation charges, according to online jail records.

He is scheduled to appear in Franklin County Municipal Court on Monday.

The shooting on East Whittier Street remains under investigation.

This was one of three shootings in Columbus early Saturday morning.
