Sergeant Casey Johnson was off-duty at the time and allegedly involved in an altercation in Ross High School’s parking lot during Friday night’s football game, Hamilton Police Lieutenant John Fischer tells WCPO.

Johnson left after the altercation driving a vehicle and was later involved in a two-vehicle crash.

He was arrested at the scene of the accident and charged with an OVI and later charged with vandalism for causing damage to a police cruiser door, Fisher said to WCPO.

“These are very serious and troubling allegations,” said Captain Marc McManus. “If proven, they represent a significant breach of the public’s trust and warrant significant disciplinary action.”

It is unclear is anyone was injured in the accident, according to WCPO.

Johnson has been relieved of duty and placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation and is currently being held at the Butler County Jail.

The incidents all occurred out of the city of Hamilton and Ross Township Police responded to the altercation while the Butler County Sheriff’s Office responded to the accident, WCPO reports.
