Ohio First Lady Fran DeWine will be in the Miami Valley for reading events

COLUMBUS — Ohio First Lady Fran DeWine will make stops in the Miami Valley today to promote Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library of Ohio, according to a news release.

She will give remarks at the United Way of Shelby County’s United for Impact Event at 11:30 a.m. in Botkins at 309 South Main Street in Botkins.

DeWine is also hosting a book reading event at Wapakoneta Elementary School and the Troy-Miami County Public Library later this afternoon, the release said.

She will be holding the first book reading event at 1:00 p.m. at Wapakoneta Elementary School at 900 North Blackhoof Street in Wapakoneta.

DeWine will be in Troy at around 2:30 p.m. at the Troy-Miami County Public Library at 419 West Main Street in Troy.

The Imagination Library has enrolled at least 343,000 kids, totaling 48% of eligible kids within Ohio, according to the release.

The library will mail kids one high-quality, age-appropriate book each month until their fifth birthday and all children in Ohio are eligible to be enrolled in the prgoram at no cost by signing up here.
