CINCINNATI — UC Health providers are participating in Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin’s CPR Challenge, according to a UC Health spokesperson.

He collapsed after suffering cardiac arrest on January 2 at Paycor Stadium in a Monday Night Football game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Hamlin received CPR on the field and continued his recovery at UC Medical Center before being released on January 9. He was transferred to Buffalo General Medical Center and discharged from there on January 11.

UC Health providers are challenging others to take up the call to learn the lifesaving emergency, CPR, according to post on UC Health’s social media accounts.
“When a person has a cardiac arrest, survival depends on immediately receiving CPR,” Dr. Charles Hattemer said.
Cardiopulmonary resuscitation, commonly known as CPR, can save the life of a person suffering from cardiac arrest.

Hamlin kicked off the champaign challenging Lakers forward LeBron James, recently retired quarterback Tom Brady and former First Lady Michelle Obama.
