A golf cart chase led to a stolen cell phone and golf club in Dayton.
Around 4:15 p.m. Monday, May 29, Dayton police were called to Madden Golf Course, 2100 Nicholas Road, for a theft report.
A 59-year-old man golfing reported to police that two teenagers jumped in his golf cart and were driving away. The man's wallet and other items were in the golf cart. The man was near hole 10 when this happened.
The victim was with other golfers at the time, and the teenagers engaged them in a short conversation before getting into the golf cart while the victim was putting, according to the police report.
One of the victim's friends then chased the two teenagers in his golf cart. The golf cart chase went off the golf course and onto McArthur Avenue and onto Ralliston Avenue.
The teenagers abandoned the golf cart, but first stole the victim's cell phone and his TaylorMade RocketBallz Driver, according to the report.
No arrests were made.
