According to WGHP and WFMY, High Point police first responded to the West English Road home after officers heard gunfire about 11:15 p.m. Thursday. A man who was on the porch then barricaded himself inside the house, authorities said.
Tactical officers later arrived and attempted to get the man to leave the house, police told WFMY. The suspect then opened fire, striking three officers, the outlets reported. All three are expected to survive, authorities said.
As of 7 a.m. Friday, the standoff was still ongoing, according to the news outlets. Guilford County sheriff’s deputies and Greensboro police have also responded to the scene, authorities said.
