All three sisters were induced and the same doctor, Dr. Edroy McMillan, delivered the three babies.
Of the three, Williams was the first to give birth to her daughter Sincere, who weighed 8 pounds, 2 ounces. Ashley Haynes followed with her 6 pound, 10 ounce son Adrion. The last sister to give birth was Daneesha Haynes, who was not due until July 23, with daughter Emrie. She weighed in at 4 pounds, 14 ounces.
“It was a blessing,” Daneesha Haynes said. “It’s amazing. This kind of blew everybody away.”
According to the Mansfield News Journal, a family friend promised to buy lunch for whomever gave birth first.
“I was kind of getting emotional. We were in a race. Once we had our water break, I was just trying to be the first,” Daneesha Haynes told the Journal.
An Associated Press story written in 1998 said the odds of three sisters giving birth the same day is 1 in 50 million.
