ALBANY, N.Y. — A stray bullet struck a 7-year-old boy Sunday afternoon in Albany, New York, police said.
According to WTEN, the shooting occurred shortly before 3:30 p.m. on Clinton Street. Albany police arrived to find a boy who had been shot in the knee, the department said in a Facebook post. Emergency crews rushed him to a nearby hospital, where he was treated for the injury. His wound was not believed to be life-threatening, authorities said.
Police also learned that a 30-year-old man was struck in the buttocks and legs during the same shooting, according to the Facebook post. He was hospitalized with non-life-threatening wounds, authorities said.
Investigators said the boy likely wasn’t the target of the apparent drive-by shooting, WTEN reported.
