Carl Aaron —originally born with the last name Bostwick — and Mark Bostwick were born in Elmira, New York. They had the same mother but different fathers.

But Aaron was adopted and moved to Rochester. Bostwick went through the foster care system, WSTM reported.

The brothers knew each other existed but had no idea where their respective sibling was.

But New York’s adoption laws recently changed, opening a door to help Aaron find Bostwick.

“I had my adoption papers and I knew what my last name was. New York state changed the adoption laws where you can get your original birth certificate with your original family. I submitted an application and that’s how I found him,” Aaron told WSTM.
