Since the 2004 release of “Mean Girls,” “That’s so fetch!” has been one of the movie’s most repeated lines by fans worldwide.
Gretchen Weiners, the gossipy character who pioneered the phrase, noted during the film that her family got their fortune, at least in part, from her father’s unique invention: the Toaster Strudel.
Now the product’s parent company, General Mills, is teaming up with Lacey Chabert, the actress who portrayed Weiners, to market a limited-edition, movie-inspired treat.
The flaky pastry is paired with pink icing and comes in two flavors: Strawberry & Cream Cheese and Strawberry. They are available now at grocery stores nationwide for about $2.50.
General Mills is also running a contest in which three winners will each get a personalized video message from Chabert, one year’s worth of Pillsbury Toaster Strudel, and “Mean Girls” merchandise.
Participants are to craft creative designs using the pink icing on the pastries and post photos on Instagram or Twitter with #FetchSweepstakes and @ToasterStrudel through Sept. 20.
The limited-edition items will be available for purchase through Oct. 31, according to a press release.
