Man arrested after fentanyl falls out of rolled-up $10 bill at drive-thru, police say

OXFORD, Maine — A Maine man is accused of handing a restaurant employee a rolled-up $10 bill that contained fentanyl at a drive-thru window, authorities said.

Erric Stack, 42, of Norway, was arrested on Wednesday and charged with aggravated assault, reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon/substance and possession of a schedule W drug, WGME-TV reported.

According to the Oxford Police Department, restaurant workers called about a man, later identified as Stack, who had fallen asleep in the drive-thru lane, the Sun Journal of Lewiston reported.

Police said that Stack allegedly used a rolled-up $10 bill to pay for his order and then left the area, according to the newspaper.

The employee who was handed the money said she began feeling ill, WGME reported.

“This was especially concerning since she was pregnant,” Oxford police Chief Rickie Jack told the television station.

The powder was tested by authorities and identified as fentanyl. The employee was checked for fentanyl exposure by rescue personnel but it was determined she had no lasting health concerns, the Sun Journal reported.

Stack was later arrested and booked into the Oxford County Jail, according to the newspaper. Bail was set at $1,000.
