Who wants to be an almost-billionaire?
In a news release early Wednesday, Mega Millions said no ticket matched all six numbers to win Tuesday’s $865 million jackpot. That means Friday’s prize will be an estimated $970 million – the second-highest in Mega Millions history and third-highest for any lottery, the release said.
According to the Mega Millions website, the winning numbers drawn Tuesday night were 10, 19, 26, 28, 50 and Mega Ball 16. Eleven tickets matched five numbers to win a second prize of at least $1 million, including two that included the optional Megaplier to win $2 million, the lottery said. Both of those tickets were sold in Florida, according to the website.
The news comes hours before the Powerball lottery’s Wednesday night drawing for an estimated $730 million jackpot.
