HENRICO COUNTY, Va. — Virginia authorities are seeking the identity of a woman accused of punching a teenage McDonald’s employee for neglecting to put ketchup on her sandwich.
The alleged assault took place at the White Oak McDonald’s in eastern Henrico County, WTVR reported, noting the suspect was last seen wearing a tie-dyed shirt and sliders.
No other identifying factors about the woman have been made public, but Henrico police are offering a cash reward for tips that lead to her arrest, the TV station reported.
The victim’s mother told WTVR that the woman, upset about the lack of ketchup on her order, confronted her daughter, instigating a fight.
“She asked my daughter if she had a problem, and my daughter said, ‘No, I have no problem.’ And then the woman said, ‘Oh we can take this outside,’” the mother told the TV station.
The suspect then punched the unidentified teenager in the face.
According to Fox News, this is only the most recent instance of an irate customer attacking a McDonald’s employee.
In late February, the network reported that a McDonald’s employee who refused to accept payment for a cup of water was attacked by a male suspect. A technical glitch prevented the cashier from ringing up the 32-cent item, which she offered the man for free. When she refused his $100 bill to pay for the cup of water, he allegedly began striking her in the face before knocking her to the ground, the network reported citing local sources.
A second employee was injured in the attack, and police later arrested the man and charged him with two counts of assault and possession of drug paraphernalia, Fox News reported.
